Working holiday visa

To immigrate to Canada and obtain permanent residence by studying, there are 2 requirements:

  • Not to take English classes or study French, but to do higher studies.
  • Have a student visa in Canada that allows you to apply for a Post Graduation Work Permit.

When your student visa in Canada expires, apply for this permit to work for 8 months to 3 years depending on what Immigration approves of you. Then, participate in the Canadian Experience Class, one of the Express Entry immigration programs to process permanent residence.

Steps to process the student visa in Canada:

Before processing the Canadian study visa, make sure you have your acceptance letter, your passport up to date and proof of funds at hand. Then, follow these steps to create an IRCC profile and upload a READABLE copy of all required documents.

  • Pay attention! Create an IRCC account to pay the corresponding fees, make your application and check the status of the application.
  • Get a scanner or a good camera to make digital copies of documents and have a debit or credit card handy.
  • Read the instruction guide. It is not mandatory to process the Canadian student visa, but it is useful to know how to fill out the forms without errors.
  • Answer a few questions so that the tool generates a personalized list of documents that allows you to verify that you have all the requirements.
  • Take into account the fees that must be paid. That is, the cost of the student visa in Canada and, in most cases, the biometric data.
